As we move into the 5th year of NAWA MA, we have over 120 members and a board of dedicated, committed artists working together toward our mission: “fostering awareness and recognition of visual art created by women in the United States.” Nella Lush has been instrumental in the formation of this chapter and I am honored to continue the work.
2017 has shown us a full exhibition schedule with work shown at Hills Gallery—Newburyport Art Association, Charles Gallery, and the Musculoskeletal Center, Junior League of Boston Designer Show House at The Historic 1853 William Flagg Homer House. Additional upcoming shows this year are scheduled at: @artlery160 Gallery, Thompson Gallery at The Cambridge School of Weston, and Simmons College.
This past year we upgraded our website, nawama.org, and continue to seek ways for it to be a more functional tool. We are well on our way to establishing a scholarship program for high school senior girls pursuing an art education.
Our artist member “socials” have proven to be a valuable way to meet the vibrant community of chapter members, network, learn about artist tools and share ideas. We are ever thankful for the history and support of NAWA National.
