PROGRAMS AND EDUCATION

NAWA supports the community by offering exhibitions and panel discussions that further the appreciation and understanding of women’s art. Exhibitions are open to the public and free of charge. All exhibitions are handicapped accessible.

The organization also offers some “members-only” events to support members as professional artists and business people. These programs help members learn how to promote their art and some are simply an exploration of creativity.

Art Creativity Workshop for Adults

NAWA members Natalia Koren-Kropf (Exhibition Committee Chair) and Anita Pearl (Library Events Coordinator) have been offering a free once-a-month Art Creativity Workshop for Adults (age 18+) at Mulberry Street Branch Library in Manhattan’s Soho District. These Creativity Workshops feature instruction in collage, water painting, hand lettering to a background of theme-inspired poetry readings. These successful Saturday workshops, scheduled to run January-June 2018, have attracted 6-18 happy participants each session. This community service arts education program has been developed in partnership with the New York Public Library, Mulberry Street Branch (Sherri Machlin, Branch Activities Coordinator).
