Inspired by the idea that blues music can have healing power for composers, musicians, and listeners, members of the National Association of Women Artists explore the transformative and celebratory emotions that occur when people emerge from difficult periods in their lives. With a wide variety of responses spanning painting, drawing, and more, Rise Up is both an examination of complex emotions and, indirectly, the therapeutic value of art.
